The Pro Tac HPL USB is a versatile tactical light that is capable of charging from multiple sources and using three different types of batteries. These include the Streamlight rechargeable lithium ion battery, two CR123A batteries, or commercially available Rechargeable Li Ion cells. This light can be charged from a laptop or most USB wall chargers. Its multi battery versatility means that primary disposable cells can always be used to power the light when a charging source is not available. The light is designed for use in all markets and features a tail cap switch for momentary or constant on operation, three different user selectable programs, and a pocket clip for convenience. The aluminum housing with Type II Military Spec anodizing helps to make the light extreme. Standalone lithium batteries are not sold with the product.

Furthermore, the light boasts TEN-TAP programming, allowing the choice of three operating modes: 1) high/Strobe/low; 2) high only; 3) low/medium/high. It is also multi-fuel, being able to use the included lithium ion battery, as well as accepting two CR123A lithium batteries or Streamlight's rechargeable USB Battery. The lithium ion battery can be recharged in the light in just 7 hours. The light is constructed with durable, anodized aluminum and has been IPX4 water-resistant and 2M impact resistant tested.
