The lithium ion battery is rechargeable up to 1,000 times, and fully recharges in just 3 hours. The clamp style charger holder includes a digital control circuit to prevent over-charging, with an LED indicator to display the charge status. For added convenience, a piggyback charger (sold separately) doubles the run time by charging a spare battery (also sold separately), reducing downtime and allowing you to keep working. In addition, the flashlight is IPX4 water-resistant and tested for 2M impact resistance.

Constructed with high quality materials, the Strion DS HL features a 6000 Series anodized machined aircraft aluminum body and borofloat high temperature glass lens. The anti-roll head prevents the flashlight from rolling away when you set it down. With dimensions of 6.33 inches (16.08 cm) and a weight of 5.4 ounces (153 grams), it is lightweight and portable. Each flashlight is serialized for positive identification.

The TEN-TAP programmable switch lets users select from three different programs: high/medium/low with Strobe (factory default), high only without Strobe, or high/medium/low without Strobe. The high setting produces a super-bright beam with 700 lumens, 12,000 candela, and a 219M beam distance, running for 1.25 hours. The medium setting provides bright light with an extended run time, while the low setting offers a less intense beam for even longer run time.
