The TLR-8G sub is a weapon-mounted tactical light with an integrated red laser that is ultra-lightweight and compact. Featuring the latest in LED technology, this light offers high-lumen operation and a continuous run time of 1.5 hours from a single lithium battery. It can be securely mounted on many 1913 short-railed subcompact handguns, including models such as the Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 subcompact, Beretta Px4 Storm subcompact, Springfield Armory XD-E, Springfield Armory XD-S, and Heckler & Koch HK45 compacts.

The body and face cap of the light are made from a 6000 Series machined aircraft aluminum with a black anodized finish, while the switch housing is constructed from impact and chemical-resistant engineered polymer. The high temperature, shock-mounted, impact-resistant BOROFLOAT glass lens ensures durability. The LED light is white and impervious to shock, with a 50,000-hour lifetime, and the 610-640nm class 3R red laser has an output of >5w.

The TLR-8G sub includes an integrated 640-660nm Class 3R red laser, a white LED light with 500 lumens, 5,000-candela peak beam intensity, and a 141-meter beam distance. The LED light and LED/laser combined provide 1.5 continuous hours to the 10% output level, while the laser alone offers 11 hours of regulated output. The custom TIR optic produces a concentrated beam with optimum peripheral illumination, and the optimized electronics provide regulated intensity. The light also features customizable rear switches on both the left and right sides of the trigger guard for ambidextrous operation. A quick press activates constant on operation, while a press and hold activates momentary operation. Additionally, a double tap on either switch within ¼ of a second activates the strobe (if enabled).

The TLR-8G sub operates on one 3-volt CR123A lithium battery with a storage life of 10 years and has an IPX4-rated design for water-resistant operation. It measures 1.16 inches in width, 1.46 inches in height, 2.51 inches in length, and weighs 2.77 ounces with the included battery.
